750 Words is a private writing tool that encourages you to write your stream of consciousness in a non-formal style.  Much like a diary of sorts, however don’t let that moniker shake you… read on.

750 Words encourages you to do exactly what is says and write 750 words or around three pages.  This is based on what artists call morning pages.  This has been done for years by artists to spur creativity, what's unique about it is what it does once you have finished.

The image below is part of a stats report from my first 750 Words entry.  This is just a fraction of the statistical data that the tool provides.  Once you have finished a post it shows you what you were writing about in general and your mood while writing it. Typing stats are also calculated, including how distracted you were while writing.

These things may all seem mundane and fairly obvious.  This is where 750 Words gets interesting.  When you start cross referencing these stats.  For example, when you are sad or talking about a depressing subject your typing rate declines significantly compared to things that you are happy or excited about.

Take thirty minutes and give it a shot.  It’s a great product.
