Thoughts and prayers go out to those involved in the shooting at Omaha’s Westroads mall yesterday. Nine people including the gunman were killed in this senseless act of violence.
In a town like Omaha, which is a major metropolitan city, however still pretty small and close knit, everyone knew someone that was there. In my case I knew two at least that were in the building when it was evacuated. Not only that but I was pretty close to the situation as I work at one of the larger hospitals in Omaha where several patients were taken for treatment. A friend of mine also has a husband on the police force that was called to assist in the incident.
As I settle back in this morning the phone calls are still pouring in for updates. I can only imagine what those that were affected by yesterday’s events are feeling. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
