Alright, finally back up and running on all cylinders, with a few minor touchups to make. So what happened? That’s a good question really to which I don’t have a positive answer. Long story short even after creating the gray design that I had put up I wasn’t happy. Wasn’t clean enough for me and so I started playing with new designs, and somewhere in the process of creating a play directory I lost the style to the current site. I elected to continue pushing ahead with the design that I was working on, and was far happier with and put it up as I got it completed.

Freelance Work

That’s not all though, projects, my full-time job, and other factors have also affected my time. Let’s start with the projects. Since I last wrote here we finished up the Military Impacted Schools Association site. You can read more about that design over on another project I have worked on lightly, the Web Aesthetics site. In addition to those I have also wrapped work on a quick site design for another client as well as diving into a very large design project for another client. Needless to say I have plenty to do.

The Eight to Five

Of course my personal work isn’t the only thing changing a recent shakeup at my place of employment has also caused a rough patch as several team members have left in a matter of weeks causing an increased work load and more stress in the respect. I guess that’s corporate America for you.

New Toys

One of the other things at least in the last week or two that has been taking up some time is the configuration, testing, and use of a couple of new toys that I managed to get a hold of. The first of which is a 30 GB IPod Video. I officially did it. I am on the Apple bandwagon once and for all. To be honest with you it is exceeding my expectations. I was under the assumption that any MP3 player would be sufficient and do the same things so why spend the money, but I have to admit I was wrong. I am very impressed with the IPod. Kudos Apple!

Here are the key specs and a photo of the new machine. The other toy is my own laptop. I already bought one several months back, however with Stephanie heading back to school she was going to be needing to use it more and more, and with all the projects I had going as well it was going to be a struggle as to who got to use the one we had. So we had to make a move to get another machine.

  • HP Pavilion dv6000t
  • Intel Core 2 Duo 1.73 Mhz
  • 2 GB RAM
  • NVIDIA Go 7400 (256k RAM)
  • 160 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive

Long story short there have been about a million things going on as of late and so I havn’t had a chance to really sit down and write. However I am back at it. So more will be coming soon. Take care until then!
